How Praetor Private collects, uses, protects and shares personal information.
Praetor Private is a trading name of Panoply Risk and Insurance Solutions Pty Ltd ABN 91 669 574 627, an Authorised Representative of Aviso Group Partners Pty Ltd ABN 40 607 665 207 AFSL No 481393 (together, “we”, “us”, “our”). We are committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how we hold it and who we share it with, whether you deal with us as a client, a referrer or a visitor to this website. Last updated 27 August 2026.
The information we collect depends on how you deal with us. It may include your name and contact details; details of the assets and interests you ask us to arrange cover for, such as vehicles, properties, collections, watercraft, aircraft and businesses; insurance history, including claims; financial information relevant to arranging cover; and the details of who referred you to us.
We only ask for what the task in front of us requires. Our introduction form asks five things; anything further is gathered in conversation, with your knowledge.
Directly from you: in conversation, by phone or email, and through the introduction form on this website. From people acting for you: your referrer, accountant, private banker, family office, broker or adviser, where you have asked them to speak with us. From insurers, underwriting agencies and claims specialists in the course of arranging cover or managing a claim.
To assess and arrange insurance for you; to place cover with insurers and underwriting agencies; to manage renewals, variations and claims; to meet our legal and regulatory obligations under our licence arrangements; and to contact you about your cover. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for mass marketing.
In arranging cover, personal information is necessarily shared with insurers, underwriting agencies and reinsurers considering or holding your risk; premium funders where you choose to fund premiums; claims assessors, repairers, valuers and specialists engaged in a claim; our licensee, Aviso Group Partners Pty Ltd, for compliance purposes; and professional service providers who support our business under confidentiality obligations.
Some insurers, reinsurers and service providers used by our licensee group operate overseas, including in the United Kingdom, Malaysia, South Africa and Singapore, for example the Lloyd’s market. Where information is disclosed overseas we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with Australian privacy law.
Information is held in secure systems with strictly controlled access, used by our business and our licensee. Access is limited to the people who need it to look after you. We retain information for as long as the law and our licence obligations require, and securely destroy it when it is no longer needed.
In line with our licensee group’s privacy policy, we use cookies and similar technologies to monitor website performance and traffic, customise and improve your experience, and enable remarketing and targeted advertising. Marketing and analytics providers engaged for these purposes are bound by confidentiality obligations. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may limit some functionality. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions or contacting us directly. The introduction form transmits the information you enter to us over an encrypted connection so that an adviser can contact you.
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it, by writing to talktous@praetor.com.au. If you believe we have mishandled your information, write to us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
